Hardie VL Plank Starter Profile, 3m – Horizontal Installations

The Hardie® VL Plank Starter Profile is a high-quality aluminium base rail designed exclusively for the Hardie® VL Plank interlocking system. Its primary function is to provide the lower edge support required for horizontal applications, ensuring your first course of boards is perfectly positioned.

This profile is vital for a professional finish as it creates a natural 10mm drip edge at the bottom of the cladding run, helping to shed water away from the sub-frame. It is manufactured with a durable finish that protects against corrosion, making it a “fit-and-forget” component for the lifetime of your facade.
Applications & Usage This profile is used at the base of the wall for all horizontal Hardie® VL Plank installations. It provides the starting point that every subsequent interlocking board relies on for alignment. For vertical installations, please refer to the Window Head & Vertical Starter Trim instead.
